Tis the Season! ~ Essential Oils for the Holidays

The Christmas season is here and I am so excited!!  Not only do I get to listen to my favorite Christmas album on repeat, but I get to do it while making little homemade gifts with love for all my friends and family! Being surrounded by the scent of essential oils is enough to put me in a good mood for the whole day. I love it :) 

First, let me share with you this album by Sovereign Grace Music. It is my go to album for Christmas, I never get tired of listening to it, and it is just such a great celebration of the birth and life of Jesus. What a great combination of old and new hymns alike that draw the heart to love our Savior even more. This is what Christmas is about first and foremost - to remind us of the Gospel story and God's redeeming love. What a beautiful season. What a great album to sing along with! Second. Lets talk about the original gift. Essential oils. I am quickly discovering that there is almost nothing essential oils cannot do. It all started in the manger with some gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Hmm, seems like back in the day... frankincense and myrrh were just as valuable as gold! Truly, gifts that that were fit for a King. Anyway, I am excited to share these with you. As you can see, I had a fun little photoshoot with my rollers because they are beautiful and useful and I love them and I want you to love them too! These make great gifts for the holidays! It is SO easy to make them yourself! The below recipes use a combination of all or some of the listed oils (meaning these are the one I have right now but there are SO many more possibilities and you should consider investing in a collection of them yourself!). I am hoping to expand my collection with time, but for now I am sharing with you what I have tried and used and am loving! These are not set in stone recipes* and you should always educate yourself on the safe use of oils before applying or ingesting them. This is a good place to start! I use Young Living** oils and I feel great knowing that I am using the most pure, therapeutic plant concentrates out there. After much reading and research, I've put together several oily blends for roll-on and spray use. You can easily get the glass rollers and spray bottles on amazon.com. These can be used interchangeably in any way that makes you feel your best! Also, they are just suggestions! Feel free to explore the EO world on your own and gain even more knowledge ❤ 

Rollers

Diluted with carrier oils (grapeseed, jojoba, olive, coconut, sweet almond). All bottles made of glass with metal or glass rollers.

Relief – Roll onto sore muscles for quick relief, apply to abdomen/uterine area to combat cramps or apply to temples and back of neck for headaches!

Relax – When you feel stressed, roll onto hands and cup over nose while taking slow, deep breaths. You can also apply to wrists or chest and breathe this scent all day!

SweetDream – We all have sleepless nights. Roll onto bottom of feet to drift off to dreamland!

Energy – Breathe in for a burst of energy!  Mornings are about to start off good!

Immune – Roll onto chest and throat for immune support and to combat colds! This roller has helped me combat sore throats and sniffles! A must have. 

~Thieves, Frankincense, Purification, Lemon, Bergamot (Oregano*)

Digest – For tummy problems of all kind. Roll on to abdomen clockwise or add a couple drops to your glass of water. 

~DiGize, Copaiba, Bergamot, Peppermint (Lemongrass*, Ginger*, Oregano*)

BreatheEasy – Because breathing at 100% makes you feel 100% better. Rub all over chest or simply inhale to clear those sinuses!

~RC, Lavender, Peppermint, Lemon (Eucalyptus blend*)

Facial – Treat yo self to a spa day every day! Not only will you love the way your face smells and feels, but this also works as a toner and purifier for a look of eternal youth! (carrier oil can be changed based on skin type)

~Tea Tree, Frankincense, Lavender, Purification, Helichrysum, Vitamin E serum

Sprays

Diluted with purified water. Shake well before use (water and oils will separate if not mixed well prior to use). All bottles made of glass, handle with care. Large bottle and sample pack will have amber or cobalt blue color to preserve the life of the oils.

Thieves Spray - you're going to need to get your hands on some thieves household cleaner concentrate for this!

• All-purpose cleaner: Combine 1 capful Thieves Household Cleaner and 2–3 cups water.
• Degreaser: Combine 1 capful Thieves Household Cleaner and 2 cups water. For heavy cleaning, use half or quarter the amount of water. If necessary, use a cloth to apply Thieves Household Cleaner undiluted. After cleaning, wipe the area with a cloth dampened with water.
• Glass and mirror cleaner: Combine 1 capful Thieves Household Cleaner, 5 drops Citrus Fresh™ essential oil blend, 1 teaspoon white vinegar, and 3 cups water.

               Girl Power – a perfumed scent for the most elegant ladies 

                 ~Joy, Lavender, Aroma Life (Ylang Ylang*, Lady Sclaerol*)

              Masculinity –  a deep, woodsy cologne for the manliest man

                ~Frankincense, Helichrysum, Cedarwood, Orange (Black Spruce*)

*Recipes can be changed based on availability of oils. The oils listed have properties that would add more substance to certain blends. However, I do not own all of these oils. Moreover, blending too many oils can take away the strength possessed by a simple blend. Each person is different and should test different combinations appropriately.
